SUMMARY:Scottish Stained Glass Symposium 2025
DESCRIPTION:The Scottish Stained Glass Trust will hold its September Symposium at St John’s Kirk\, a church with a remarkable collection of 20th-century stained glass. \nThis year marks the 150th anniversaries of artists Douglas Strachan and Margaret Chilton\, whose work can be seen here alongside windows by Hendrie\, Wilson\, Goudie\, Adam\, Ballantine\, Meikle\, Guthrie & Wells\, Meredith Williams\, Marjory Kemp\, and Salvin. \n\n\n\nProgramme highlights:\n\n\n\n\nTalk by Trustee Rona Moody (background to the windows and artists) and Chair Sue Bradbury (technical aspects of the glass)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWalk around the church to study the windows (bring binoculars if you wish)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLunch and informal discussion beneath Strachan’s East Window  \n\nSandwich lunch with cake & fruit available for £10 (please pre-book and advise dietary requirements).\n\n\n\nSchedule:\n\n\n\n\n10:30 – Arrival\, tea/coffee and biscuits\n\n\n\n\n\n\n11:00 – Welcome by Susan Bradbury\n\n\n\n\n\n\n11:05 – Short SSGT update + talks\, followed by tour of the windows\n\n\n\n\n\n\n13:00 – Lunch and discussion\n\n\n\nFree event\, email us to book: secretary@ssgt.org.uk
