Jennifer Archibald of St John’s Kirk Stewards Group said: “People from all around the world come to Perth. They want to visit places of interest – and we want to show them what we have.
“Every year we open the kirk to the public, from April until the end of September.
We need people to be there, to welcome, to chat, to perhaps point out some of the beautiful or historic things that are in the kirk.
“We are looking for volunteers to enlarge our current team of stewards so that we can stay open for longer and more often.
“They don’t have to be a church person and don’t need to know anything in particular, they just need to be friendly and interested, in people and in Perth.”
Training will be provided by the group and volunteers can choose when they wish to help out.
Ms Archibald added: “We are all ages, all sizes, all different. We work in pairs so stewards are never alone.
